A mixed panel of two EULEX judges and one local judge at the District Court of Prishtine/Pristina extended for two months the detention on remand against B.M., B.S. and L.Q..

The District Court panel decided to extend the detention of the suspects upon request of the prosecutor and after reviewing the defense counsels’ response to this request. The panel found that there is grounded suspicion that the suspects have committed the criminal offences they are charged with; there is a risk of flight due to the serious nature of the crimes; and a risk the suspects may obstruct the criminal proceedings.

B.M., B.S. and L.Q are being investigated for their alleged involvement in the explosion at the Bill Clinton Boulevard on 24 September 2007. They are charged with the criminal offences of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, causing general danger and organized crime.

The case is being investigated by a EULEX prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo (SPRK).
