On 20 June 2014, an International Prosecutor and a State Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj/ Uroševac filed an indictment against three individuals accused of criminal offences including Organized Crime, Facilitation of Prostitution and an another linked offence.
The three defendants are alleged by the prosecution to have established an organized criminal group with other individuals to facilitate prostitution by recruiting foreign nationals, mainly Ukrainian, to provide sexual services at the motel 'NATA'- which was a notorious place for prostitution in the Ferizaj region. According to the prosecution, these offences took place during the period between 2005 and 2013.
The prosecution suspects that the defendants were able to gain at least 1.5 million euros from the proceeds of their criminal activities. In the course of the investigation a substantial amount of property (houses, apartments, vehicles and money) was confiscated.
