Today a EULEX Prosecutor from the Mobile Prosecution Unit and a State Prosecutor from the Pristina Basic Prosecution Office filed an indictment against three Kosovo citizens for their involvement in the attack on Kosovo 2.0 on 14 December 2012 in the Red Hall of the Youth and Sport Centre.
The defendants are charged with five counts under the old code:; Violating Equal Status of Residents of Kosovo (article 158, paragraph 1); Preventing or Hindering a Public meeting (article 173); Inflicting Light Bodily Harm (article 153); Inciting National, racial, Religious or Ethnic Hatred, Discord or Intolerance (article 115, paragraphs 1 and 3) and Damage to Movable Property (article 260, paragraph 1 and 2). The last two mentioned Counts will be affected by the Law on Amnesty if this Law goes into effect unchanged.
At the same time, the EULEX Prosecution ended three other investigations in the Kosovo 2.0 case. Two cases concern insults and are therefore cases with a civil nature. The victims in these cases have been notified about the decision and have been provided with information to pursue a civil case, should they wish to do so. In another case the investigation did not lead to the identity of the perpetrators.
The Kosovo 2.0 investigation in total consists of seven separate cases, three of which now have been closed. The investigation is still going on. The Prosecution calls upon Kosovo citizens to report information that might lead to identifying more perpetrators.
