EULEX is closely cooperating with Kosovo Police to investigate the shooting incident that took place last night in the Kroi i Vitakut/Brdjani neighborhood of north Mitrovica, leaving one person dead, and three injured. Last night EULEX investigators attended the crime scene and in cooperation with KP started to interview the witnesses. This joint KP and EULEX investigation is continuing today with retrieving of forensic evidence and gathering of witness statements.

EULEX calls upon everyone to refrain from violent reactions and to let the rule of law do its work. This includes the possibility to move around freely for EULEX to carry out this and other investigations in accordance with its mandate.
