On 18 May, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) supported the training for Kosovo law enforcement and judiciary on "International law enforcement cooperation in fighting organized crime", organized by the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) within the project Partnership against Crime and Terrorism (CEPOL WB PaCT).

The five-day training aimed to improve the  law enforcement and judicial authorities cooperation during serious and organized crime investigations at national and international level.

During the training, EULEX's Head of Monitoring Pillar, Benny Jensen, explained the Mission's mandate in supporting Kosovo's justice institutions throughout the entire chain of justice, and highlighted the importance of coordination and cooperation with international partners Jensen focused in particular on the Mission's robust monitoring, which results in findings and recommendations aimed at improving Kosovo’s rule of law system.

EULEX's experts from the International Police Cooperation Unit also briefed the participants about their work to facilitate the exchange of information between the Kosovo Police and Interpol, Europol or the Serbian Ministry of Interior, as well as the best European practices of international police cooperation.
