On 16 December, five gendarmes of the French National Gendarmerie were deployed to Kosovo as contribution of the European Gendarmerie Force (EUROGENDFOR) to the Reserve Formed Police Unit of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in order to contribute to the situational awareness of the Mission.

On 19 December, the Head of Mission of EULEX, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, welcomed the French gendarmes at the Mission’s headquarters in Pristina.
