On 27 June 2024, the Forensic Medicine Team of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) joined the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM) at the Orthodox Cemetery in Pristina.

The IFM handed over the remains of one person to representatives from the Serbian Commission for Missing Persons, who received and buried the remains on behalf of the family.

The identification of the remains was recently confirmed after a positive DNA matching was obtained. This was the result of the ongoing reviewing work of the remains at the IFM’s morgue.
