EULEX presents the Mission’s work to around 120 students attending the Kosovo International Summer Academy 2024

07 August

On 17 July and 07 August 2024, the Mission Analytical Capability (MAC) Analyst of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Sara Barbieri, delivered lectures on the role of the EULEX Mission in Kosovo as guest speaker at the “Kosovo International Summer Academy” to a total of around 120 students hailing from all over the world.

The students had the opportunity to gain a first-hand insight about the Mission’s unique mandate, discussing with Barbieri how it has evolved over the years and learning more about EULEX’s role, contribution, achievements and challenges.

In particular, the discussion focused on the relationship between the Mission and its counterparts from some of the selected rule of law Kosovo institutions that EULEX is mandated to support on their path towards increased effectiveness, sustainability, multi-ethnicity and accountability, free from political interference and in line with international human rights standards and best European practices.

The students, who were in Kosovo for 10-day programs organised by Kosovo Center for Diplomacy around the theme “Peacebuilding in Post-Conflict Areas – Diplomacy, Leadership and Negotiations”, engaged in lively and thoughtful discussions actively asking questions with enthusiasm and curiosity.
