On 13 September 2024, the Head of Mission of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and the Force Commander of the European Gendarmerie Force (EUROGENDFOR), Colonel Hans Vroegh, signed the revised Technical Arrangement between EULEX Kosovo and EUROGENDFOR at their Headquarters in Vicenza, Italy.

The agreement represents a significant milestone in strengthening the collaboration and expanding the support that EULEX receives from EUROGENDFOR, including the potential deployment of their Reserve Formed Police Unit (RFPU) and other specialized resources as needed. This partnership further enhances the Mission’s ability to meet its evolving operational needs, reinforcing the comprehensive and integrated approach with external partners.

From March 2022 to February 2023, the Mission benefitted from four deployments of a Reserve Formed Police Unit to temporarily reinforce its Formed Police Unit (FPU), in order respond to EULEX’s needs to have additional forces on the ground.
