On 29^th January 2025, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) donated one vehicle to the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK) to better support PIK's work.

Acknowledging the key role of PIK in independently investigating criminal offences allegedly perpetrated by police, including any form of t torture and ill-treatment, the EULEX Head of Monitoring Pillar, Giovanni Galzignato, handed over today the donation to PIK's Director Kushtrim Hodaj.

During the ceremony, Galzignato reaffirmed the importance of the ongoing EULEX-PIK partnership and the Mission's commitment to assessing, through its robust monitoring, if Kosovo's rule of law institutions - including the Kosovo Police - comply with the applicable legal framework and their human rights obligations, without discrimination.
