On 30 March 2026, the Head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Giovanni Pietro Barbano, was hosted in a meeting by Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu.

As President Osmani’s current mandate concludes, Barbano expressed his gratitude for the vital, frank cooperation with EULEX and for upholding the rule of law and human rights, including as a true champion of the Women Peace and Security Agenda and of the Istanbul Convention.

During the meeting, he also reaffirmed that EULEX's priority remains supporting Kosovo justice institutions to fulfill their human rights obligations for all - ensuring they are fully accountable, independent, and resilient against any undue interference.
