EULEX and Swedish Police experts help enhance life-saving skills for Kosovo Police officers

16 April

On 16 April 2026, the Police Advisors Unit of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) facilitated the launch of the Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) training organised by experts from the Swedish Police Authority to further strengthen life-saving capabilities for frontline Kosovo Police Officers in northern Kosovo through a hands-on approach.

The training programme was implemented as a pilot initiative. By combining theoretical instruction with realistic, scenario-based exercises, it aims at equipping around 300 officers from the Kosovo Police with essential skills to respond effectively in emergency situations, ultimately benefiting all communities. The programme will continue over the coming months, with additional phases already planned to broaden its reach and impact.

This initiative reflects the Mission Police Advisors Unit’s ongoing commitment to support the Regional Directorate of Police in Mitrovica North and the four police stations under its command in enhancing their professional capacities to ensure the effective delivery of community-oriented policing.
