On 24 June 2026, the Head of Mission of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Giovanni Pietro Barbano, had a farewell call with the Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu.

Barbano expressed his appreciation for her steadfast support to EULEX and her continued efforts in advancing the rule of law, including her strong commitment to Gender Equality.

The EULEX Head of Mission confirmed that the Mission remains committed to supporting and strengthening rule of law institutions as they continue on their European path.
