On 18 August 2026, the new Head of Mission of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Antero Lopes, held a meeting with Kosovo’s Acting President Albulena Haxhiu at the onset of his tenure as EULEX Head of Mission.

During the meeting, Lopes reaffirmed the Mission commitment to remaining a trusted and impartial partner to accountable and independent rule of law institutions, advancing Kosovo’s European path for the benefit of all.
