From 25 to 26 August 2026, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) was delighted to host a delegation from the German Police on the occasion of their two-day visit Kosovo.

On 25 August, the group, led by Lt. Colonel Heiner Mies, Head of German Support Office for Police Secondment, was welcomed by EULEX Deputy Head of Mission Emily Rakhorst, who thanked Germany for its valued contribution to EULEX, particularly through the secondment of experienced civilian and uniformed personnel.

The first day included detailed briefing sessions on different aspects of the Mission mandate by EULEX senior leadership, alongside a meeting with seconded German Police Mission Members.

On 26 August, the visiting Officers had the opportunity to visit Mitrovica North and to learn more about the respective roles of the Police Advisors Unit in advising Mitrovica North Regional Directorate of Police on number of issues related to community-oriented policing, as well of EULEX Formed Police Unit in supporting Kosovo stability.
