On 15 September 2026, the Head of EULEX, Antero Lopes, visited the Documentation Centre Kosovo. During the visit he was hosted by the Director of the Humanitarian Law Center Kosovo, Bekim Blakaj, and curator of the center Blerta Hoçia.

The Head of Mission learned more about the Centre’s work to preserve the memory of the victims of the Kosovo conflict, including its deeply moving documentation of the fate of 1,130 children who were killed or remain missing.

Through personal stories and documented accounts, the Centre honours the children whose lives were lost, while ensuring that their experiences and those of their families are not forgotten.

The visit also highlighted the importance of documenting the past and preserving collective memory as a way to acknowledge victims, encourage dialogue and contribute to healing.
