On 12 October 2026, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) hosted a delegation from the Swedish Police Authority alongside representatives of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo to discuss joint efforts to strengthen prevention and protection programmes addressing sexual and gender-based violence.

The meeting was followed by a two-day EULEX-facilitated workshop delivered by Swedish Police experts on risk factors in domestic violence cases, bringing together around 40 Kosovo Police officers from the Mitrovica Region, representatives of Mitrovica North Municipality, the Centre for Social Welfare in Mitrovica South and the Prosecution Office.

The workshop supported knowledge-sharing and discussions on the development of training programmes for the Kosovo Police and service providers, strengthening their capacity to identify risks and respond to domestic violence.

EULEX remains committed to supporting local institutions and partners in preventing and combating sexual and gender-based violence and strengthening the protection of those affected.
