More than sixty students of the Law Faculty at the University of Pristina had the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge from a team of EULEX prosecutors, judges and legal officers on court procedure.

The EULEX team of judiciary experts have organised for the students various workshops and trainings, including mock trials, which have proven to be hugely successful and useful for law students. 

On 24 February 2015, President of EULEX Judges Malcolm Simmons, Prosecutor Andrew Carney and Legal Officers David Hegarty and Anna Smith organised a half day advocacy skills workshop with students from the Law Faculty.

The room where the advocacy training was held was filled to capacity with students eager to learn from the combined expertise of EULEX judges, prosecutors and Legal Officers.

The students were welcomed by the Faculty Dean Xhulieta Mushkolaj, and introduced to the workshop by EULEX Judge Malcolm Simmons. Andrew Carney lead the presentation.

The Dean of the Faculty and the President of the EULEX Judges agreed that EULEX would continue to cooperate in providing future workshops, an initiative welcomed by the students.

In the summer, EULEX will run a one day mock where the students will have an opportunity to practice the skills learned during the advocacy workshop.
