EULEX Formed Police Unit’s Officers receive CSDP Service Medal in the presence of the Acting Commander in Chief of the Polish Police

On 6 March 2024, 78 Polish officers of the Formed Police Unit (FPU) of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) were awarded the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Medal. This medal is a symbol of their commitment to values of peace, security and justice while serving with the Mission.

The medal ceremony was held at the EULEX Centre Mitrovica and it was hosted by the Head of Mission of EULEX, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, in the presence of the Acting Commander in Chief of the Polish Police, Colonel Marek Boroń, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bardhyl Dobra, the KFOR NATO Chief of Staff, Brigadier General John Bozicevic, the Commander of NATO KFOR Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU), Colonel Massimo Rosati and of other distinguished international guests.

Addressing the recipients in his opening remarks, Barbano stated: “As the linchpin of EULEX’s second security responder role, you stood ready to ensure a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Kosovo Police and KFOR.”

“These awards are the recognition of your dedication and extraordinary service,” pointed out Colonel Marek Boroń while thanking the FPU’s Polish Officers for their professionalism and commitment.
