Outgoing Acting Head of EULEX holds series of farewell meetings

30 October

On 29 October, the outgoing Acting Head of EULEX, Bernd Thran, held a series of farewell meetings with outgoing Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, Vetevendosje leader, Albin Kurti, LDK Vice President, Vjosa Osmani, KFOR Commander, Lorenzo d’ Addario, and the Head of the Russian Chancery, Andrey Lissovoy.

During the meeting with the outgoing Prime Minister, Mr Thran thanked Mr Haradinaj for the excellent cooperation and added: “I would like to thank Mr Haradinaj on a personal level for the meetings we held together over the years. While we were not always on the same page, I still very much enjoyed our lively meetings together. I wish him all the very best in his future endeavours following his time in office.”

At the meeting with the Vice President of LDK, Vjosa Osmani, Mr Thran wished the party every success in the time ahead and underlined the importance of continuing the work of creating a strong rule-of-law structure in Kosovo. “A strong and resilient rule-of-law system creates a society where citizens can live in comfort and safety, where businesses can flourish and ideas can grow. It is fundamental to a prosperous, European-oriented society,” said Thran. Following this meeting Mr Thran held a farewell meeting with Vetevendosje leader, Albin Kurti.

Outgoing Acting Head of EULEX also met with the KFOR Commander and thanked him for the excellent cooperation. “I would like to underline the particularly smooth and well-coordinated cooperation I enjoyed with Lorenzo - the relationship between EULEX and KFOR during his time really stood out as particularly strong,” said Mr Thran, adding: “It was a genuine pleasure to work together and I thank him for the work he did in strengthening the partnership between NATO and the EU in the field”.

At Mr Thran’s farewell meeting with the Head of the Russian Chancery, Andrey Lissovoy, the latter conveyed his farewell wishes to Mr Thran and thanked him for the good cooperation over the years.
