Danish National Police Delegation visits EULEX

On 24 November, a delegation from the Danish National Police, including members of the Danish Police Union and the Nordic Police Cooperation Liaison Office in Albania, visited the headquarters of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in Pristina.

EULEX’s Deputy Head of Mission, Cezary Luba, provided a comprehensive overview of the Mission’s mandate, how it evolved throughout the years, and the challenges the Mission faced over the years

EULEX’s Head of Monitoring Pillar, Benny Jensen, presented the important work done by the different units of the Monitoring Pillars, namely the EULEX Correctional Unit, which monitors, mentors, and advises the Kosovo Correctional Service, and the Case Monitoring Unit, which conducts a robust and systemic monitoring of selected cases in the Kosovo justice system.

The EULEX’s Head of Human Resources Division, Anita Janassary, gave to the delegation’s members a brief introduction about EULEX’s Human Resources Division and its tasks.

The visitors also received a briefing from EULEX’s Chief Situation and Information Centre, Ville Siikasalmi, who explained how the Mission has a thorough and continuous situational awareness.

The Danish Delegation concluded their visit to EULEX by seeing with their own eyes the important work done by the Mission in supporting the Kosovo rule-of-law institutions, by attending the presentation of EULEX’s Justice Monitoring Report.
