EULEX Head of Mission Visited North Kosovo

EULEX Head of Mission, Ms. Alexandra Papadopoulou visited north Kosovo and met with the mayors of Leposavic and Zvecan.  In separate meetings they discussed important matters for the local community like the freedom of movement, civil registration and license plates.

Ms. Papadopoulou underlined the need for the continuous constructive engagement of the mayors, emphasizing that such cooperation is of crucial importance for the local community.

During her visit, Ms. Papadopoulou met also the Mitrovica North Administrative Office Head, Ms. Adrijana Hodzic. They talked about the progress and the challenges of the office’s work. 

“I was encouraged to hear that all my interlocutors remain committed to peace and stability. There is no alternative to dialogue, and EULEX stands ready to facilitate the technical implementation of the agreements reached in the EU-facilitated Belgrade-Pristina as a tangible step towards improving the lives of the people living throughout Kosovo,” Ms. Papadopoulou said.

The HoM also visited the Main Bridge and viewed the on-going pedestrianization of King Peter’s street in Mitrovica north.
