05 December 2018

EULEX’s gender-based violence Lead Monitor, Chiara Tagliani, and the Mission’s Gender Advisor and Dutch police officer, Antonius van der Velden, gave two lectures at the Universities of Pristina and Prizren to raise awareness among the students of the importance to combat gender-based violence.

Focusing on the legal rights of protection victims of domestic and gender-based violence are entitled to, they also tackled issues such as the definition and root causes of gender-based violence, the legal framework surrounding gender-based violence in Kosovo and internationally, the implementation of relevant legislation by the authorities, and the possible actions that can be taken to address the issue of domestic and gender-based violence in Kosovo.
