EULEX donates clothing to women’s shelter in Novobërdë/Novo Brdo

13 May 2019

EULEX Gender Advisor Antonius van der Velden, along with the Mission's current interns, visited the Women's Centre for Support and Development in Novobërdë/Novo Brdo and donated clothing to the organization.

The Centre is the first multi-ethnic shelter in Kosovo, and it is engaged in the daily delivery of all-round support to victims of domestic violence. That includes support therapies with a psychologist as well as trainings and workshops for women.
Vesna Stajic, head of the shelter welcomed the donation, which will enable the facility to provide a better service to women and children in need.

During their internship period, our interns take part in study trips to various organizations in Kosovo. The visit to the women’s shelter enabled them to get a better perspective on how a local NGO functions and deals with everyday challenges in practice.
