Medical training in the Lipjan/Lipljan Educational Correctional Centre

26 August 2019

On 22 August, the EULEX Medical Unit held a medical training course for staff members of the Kosovo Correctional Service (KCS) in the Lipjan/Lipljan Educational – Correctional Centre.

As part of a series of ongoing medical training courses, 11 non-medical staff members of the KCS learned how to provide emergency first-aid response and to practice more the ERC (European Resuscitation Council) Protocol for Basic Life Support.

The medical training program was first developed back in 2016 to address the need of having trained non-medical staff in the KCS. As a result, EULEX organized 31 successful training sessions in 2016 for 419 staff members of the KCS.

The EULEX-led medical training courses will continue in the upcoming months in other Kosovo correctional facilities.
