EULEX Traditional Charity Event to Support the Red Cross of Kosovo

On 22 December, the Head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, handed over to the Director of the Red Cross of Kosovo, Feride Hyseni, 8,560 euros, which were the proceeds from the traditional charity event organized by the Mission to support this humanitarian organization in Kosovo.

On 15 December, after two years of restrictions due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Mission was able to organize again its charity event, where EULEX personnel representing Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Poland and Romania, prepared and served traditional foods and drinks for over 200 visitors who joined this special fundraising event. In addition, companies and institutions supported EULEX’s fundraising efforts by donating gifts and services, which were awarded to the winning purchasers of tickets as part of a lottery game.

An exclusive two-night’s stay in the breathtaking Santorini in Greece was generously sponsored by Andronis hotel, while the Hellenic Liaison Office in Pristina, generously sponsored three different trips to Thessaloniki, each of them for two or three nights of stay in the Aegeon Hotels Group.
Lucky contributors also had the chance to win tickets to the opera “La Traviata”, donated by the Italian Contingent of EULEX.
Other exclusive gifts such as vouches for spa and Christmas brunches were donated by Swiss Diamond Hotel and Emerald Hotel in Pristina. A lovely surprise for the winners were many luxury skin treatments and other services from Esthetica, a well-known dermatological center in Pristina. Hair styling and treatments were also offered to the lucky winners from HDC Hair Studio.
Lovely Pristina restaurants such as Ponte Vecchio, Walker’s, Baracca, Priview and Comandante Marcos offered dinners and lunches to the winners. Contributors who wish to stay fit were lucky winners of monthly memberships sponsored by Fitbox. Last but not least, the musician Diar Aliu generously sponsored two guitar lessons for the lucky winners.
