A mixed panel of two EULEX judges and one local judge, presided over by a EULEX judge at the District Court of Pristina, acquitted A.B. charged with the criminal offence of war crimes against the civilian population.

The panel of judges found that the evidence presented was insufficient to prove that the defendant had committed the offence he had been charged with.

A.B. was accused to have participated in a group which allegedly mistreated a civilian, X.I., who was found to have been killed in Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje in 1999.

The case was prosecuted by a EULEX prosecutor from the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo (SPRK).
