A panel of one EULEX judge and two local judges at the District Court of Pristina sentenced A.S. to six year of imprisonment for the criminal offence of kidnapping in co-perpetration.

The panel found A.S. guilty for kidnapping D.S. in Pristina in December 2005. The defendant released D.S. after the victim’s father, G.S., paid a ransom of 230 thousand Euros on a dirt road near Bradash village.

A.S. was a co-defendant with other persons during a trial conducted in 2009; however during the trial he fled jurisdiction. He was caught and arrested by the police in April 2012 and then brought before the judge, who imposed detention on remand against him.

The case was prosecuted by a local SPRK prosecutor.
