A EULEX judge has ordered detention on remand for two suspects in relation to a shooting incident between Gjilan/Gnjilane and Bujanoce/Bujanovac close to Gate 5. Three other suspects were ordered to report to a police station and had their passports taken away.

The incident took place close to the border/boundary between Kosovo and Serbia in the early hours of the morning of 28 June 2012.

The suspects were arrested on 01 July 2012 by EULEX police and are charged with commission of terrorism and participation in a terrorist group for allegedly shooting at a Serbian police checkpoint near Gate 5.

The investigation, led by a EULEX prosecutor from Kosovo’s Special Prosecution Office, has been supported by KFOR and Kosovo Police.
