A EULEX pre-trial judge from the Prishtinë/Pristina District Court has released the former Central Bank Governor H.R. from detention on remand but imposed a number of restrictive measures as an alternative to the detention.
The release came following a request from the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office (SPRK) which said it had secured enough evidential material in the ‘Central Bank Case’ and that a release from detention on remand was consistent with the overall strategy of the prosecution.
H.R. continues to be subject of investigation. The charges in the case relate to: abuse of official position or authority, trading in influence, money laundering, tax evasion and accepting bribes.
