EULEX has today been informed by the Romanian Authorities that due to the seriousness of the matter, the mission of the16 Romanian Gendarmes has been terminated in order to allow the continuation of the investigation into the incident which occurred in the early hours of 20th April at the Blace Border/Boundary crossing in FYROM where quantities of alcohol and cigarettes exceeding the allowed amount were carried out of Kosovo on a bus with a Romanian civilian licence plate. The appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the existing rules and procedures.
