New war crimes trial begins in Peja/Peć On Wednesday, 11 March 2009, a mixed panel of two EULEX judges and a local judge will start a trial in Peja/Peć. The prosecutor will also be from EULEX.

The defendant, G.K., a former member of the KLA, is charged with illegal arrest and detention, kidnapping, murder and robbery during the March 1999 war in the Peja/Peć region.

The trial is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the District Court in Peja/Peć. Journalists are invited to attend but all recording devices (including mobiles, TV, radio or photographic cameras) are prohibited in the courtroom.
