Lens on the Law – the winners!

More than one-hundred people attended the grand finale of the EULEX Kosovo photographic competition in the National Library in Pristina. Thirty photographs made it to the exhibition entitled ‘Lens on the Law – the right and the wrong’.  

Berat Murina aged 24, from Kamenca was the winner of the competition. Murina is the official photographer of the international film festival Skena Up and also won second prize at the Gjon Mili photo competition held last year in Pristina. The EULEX Head of Mission, Xavier de Marnhac awarded one-thousand euros and a trip to Brussels to Murina.

Commenting on the thirty photos on display, De Marnhac said “Each picture tells a story in itself. What is clear for all, is that the rule of law is central to everyone’s life, and that without the rule of law there is no modern society in any country”

The emerging young professional, Murina who has been practicing photography for about two years said “I want to thank EULEX for appreciating my work”

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Hajredin Kuçi, awarded the runner-up, Igor Pavicevic with five-hundred euros, and the Belgian Ambassador Pascal Gregoire gave out as third prize two-hundred and fifty euros to Driton Paqarada.

The lens on the law exhibition runs up until 9 May. The exhibition will then be taken to Brussels. In his closing words De Marnhac said “I would like to thank the people of Kosovo, from all communities and all backgrounds, for their contributions to this contest and for their continuing desire and ambition to build and strengthen the rule of law here, for now, and for the future. “
